History of Checker Aerobus
Checker Aerobus is an eight-door vehicle and was manufactured only between 1966 and 1977. The body style remained essentially the same throughout the entire production period. Our Checker Aerobus was made in 1974 and in that year only 154 were produced.
The Aerobus was conceived as the first and only totally effective method of transporting 12 people for short or extended distances and with complete comfort, outstanding safety and true economy.
According to the March 1966 issue of Motor Magazine - "A subsidiary function of the Checker Aerobus seems to be to cheer people up. Wherever it goes smiles spread across peoples' faces as they see such a long and elongated car." We at Door County Green Bay Shuttle have found this to be true.
